A tweet about Globish in China

Rebecca Davis, who is Vice-President Discovery Communications tweeted thus today about Globish in China:

There are more English speakers in China than in the US. But they speak Globish. #mydiscovery

Robert McCrum was interviewed on BBC about Globish and JP Nerriere’s role in setting the first assertion about non-native English speakers and their tendency to use “enough English” rather than patrician English!

Don’t I wish it were so.

About BobG in Dalian & Vancouver

I'm a semi-retired man, who spends most my time trying to understand more about the world without falling into the abyss of despair about any particular, war, politics, cultural wars et al. I have lived in many countries (Spain, Canada, Quebec, France, Algeria, and China) for longer and short periods of time and I have visited other countries (Andorra, Italy, Switzerland, Kuwait, Germany, England, Turkey, Greece (including Santorini and Mykonos), Rhodes, Cyprus, and the USA). I continue to work on web platform solutions to provide English training in China and possibly India.
